I've been endurance racing Porsche 944's since 2010 and one of the weak points has always been the control arms.  Every season we would inevitably have to dig and sort through our spares box to find the least worn used units, or go through the process of rebuilding our existing units. 

At that time there were a few different aftermarket options but the most desirable option had gone obsolete; the original manufacturer decided he did not want to go through the hassle of producing his solution even though many 944 folks expressed interest.  With my background in aerospace metals forging, manufacturing engineering and supply chain management, I decided this was something I could produce so our team would never have to worry about not finding replacements, while also allowing for easy rebuilding when components wore out.  

With the goal of making these as true to the originals as I could, I found a broken old unit, 3D scanned it using a top-of the line point cloud scanner and built a CAD model around the 3D scan.  While this ensured dimensional accuracy, the mechanical strength of these units is of even important.  I checked the material chemistry of each component to ensure my materials selection would be identical to the tried-and-true product and performed destructive testing on top of chemistry to determine the appropriate heat treatment process.

With all this effort to make our team a replacement set, it was very little additional work to produce additional units to support the 944 community if anyone else wants something like the originals, but wants brand-new units out of the box with a customer-direct business model.  My goal is to provide superior customer service and support our community with new and replacement parts, all available online for easy ordering and quick shipment.
